The head honchos over at Le7els Recordings have been very picky to have the few records they sign to the label match the specific Swedish sound that’s been created by artists like their own Avicii and Cazette. But in a bold move today, they’ve taken the first chance with the label on an artist also looking to take a chance with a new sound. Singing their first French artist Norman Doray for his single “Filtré.” Known for perfecting flowy, catchy progressive instrumentals, Doray transfers that talent over to a disco and tech house sound fueled by horns, Daft Punk and a personal affinity for his native French house. While “Filtré” feels classic, its release on a more mainstream label is a bit of a test according to Doray: “I thought it would be interesting to put this record out and see how the new “EDM” generation would react.”
