Mash-up extraordinaire D.VELOPED is releasing a new sample-based remix this afternoon, and we wanted to provide EARMILK readers a first listen. The duo (Davis & Steph) stem from North Carolina, and have been working collaboratively on creating new mixtapes, remixes, originals, and ways to enhance their live performances for the past year and a half. The duo strives on creating hooks with multiple samples, rearranging them, and producing tracks that flow seamlessly from start to finish. D.VELOPED is a music project that compiles eclectic genres, micro-samples and sounds with original production as the foundation.
“Extra Fly” is available through Soundcloud. With a “Like” on Facebook, listeners can download the track for free. We were thrown off by the mix of instrumental & vocal samples outlined below, and did not think that the combination of them was going to work. Despite our initial hesitancy, pressing play on the track proved how great of an ear this duo has. With this track alone, D.VELOPED managed to showcase their talent & exceed our expectations. The track is radical & unique, something we look for in mash-up artists. Enjoy!
