It’s definitely summertime in England now, the sun is actually out for once so it would seem that there is plenty of reason to be optimistic – here’s another, his name is Incisive. Throughout the year he has been gaining serious momentum and recognition alongside the release of his debut mixtape Where Is He?
Both singles released from the collection hit the number 1 spot on the Official MTV Base Chart and held on to the position for over 3 weeks each. Title track “Where Is He”, featuring long-term friend Shakka, was also selected for BBC 1xtra’s Introducing record of the week and received significant support across UK radio.
His latest release “Winners” sees him combine the up-beat consciousness of a Rodney P track with an irresistibly motivational hook from Julian Marley, son of the one and only Bob Marley. Over a slick reggae beat, Incisive paints a beautifully accurate picture of life today in England’s lower class; his skill lies in his knack for capturing its youth’s crimes, fatalism and every day obstacles – and then cramming it all into a few minutes of pure goodness.
The currently unsigned West London rapper is dropping “Winners” on the 19th of August, until then, be sure to watch the video below and check out his Where Is He? mixtape, which is available to download on iTunes.
