After bursting onto the scene with her Top-40 hit “The Way” featuring Mac Miller back in March and the Mariah-esque single, “Baby I” in July, the lovable Ariana Grande has set her sights on the release of her debut album Yours Truly dropping September 3rd.
On her latest album cut, Grande recruits Big Sean for “Right There:” an old-school 90’s sounding track with a smooth feel, sampling Lil Kim’s 1996 single “Crush On You.” Her reassuring vocals glide over the track as she sings, “you should know, I’m never gunna change, I’m always gunna stay, you cover me right there”
Similarly, Sean comes in and out of the track with his own version of “21 Questions.” “If it all fell through, would you catch me before the pavement? If my Benz turned back to public transportation, would you still be at home for me with the candles waiting?” Her throwback style puts a unique touch on an already impressive voice. Yours Truly is available for pre-order on iTunes, along with all three of her singles.
