Dizzy Wright’s big year continues. After an appearance on XXL Magazine’s 2013 Freshman Class and music videos steadily approaching multimillion views, Dizzy is prepping for the release of his upcoming mixtape The Golden Age, dropping August 19th. The Las Vegas native has already released a few samples of the mixtape with songs like “Maintain,” “Still Movin’” and “KIllem Wit Kindness,” revealing a classic 90’s feel to his sound. On his latest cut, Dizzy recruits fellow Funk Volume label mate SwizZz for a collage of hip-hop history and culture. The track samples Craig Mack’s iconic “Flavor in You Ear” line as well as some important references to Spike Lee’s classic film “He Got Game.”
The desert of Nevada visuals are supported by Dizzy rocking Jesus Shuttlesworth’s Lincoln high school T-shirt, while Swizz sports the vintage Spike Lee “Brooklyn” baseball cap. The buzz surrounding Dizzy seems to be getting louder as the year goes on and he makes sure to let us know, “I know myself, so I told myself I’m all in, for the record and the cars we just evolvin’.”
