I’ll admit it: since my interview with Andrew Bayer during Miami Music Week this year, I have been a little obsessed with every record that the Washington DC-born, Brooklyn-based producer has released. And it appears I’m not the only one: Bayer’s seen great success with the album he released earlier this year, If It Were You, We’d Never Leave as well as a feature on the iconic Anjunabeats Vol. 10. Today he’s returned to the imprint he worked so hard to become a favorite of, Anjunabeats to release Need Your Love, an EP full of the old and the new. The title track, originally from his album released back in April, features pounding piano chords in a classic Anjuna-style “hands in the air” progressive trance fashion. “England,” was his featured track on Anjunabeats Vol. 10, and in my opinion is the standout track from the whole compilation. A no-boundaries approach to progressive house, it’s still a favorite in Above & Beyond’s live sets. “Detuned” is the newest track on the EP, and features an impressively experimental and laid back approach to emotive dubstep. With that, Need Your Love is a well-rounded must listen.
