BIG! Get on it. Also, remember that fabricfirst members get in free + a guest at half price.
On Friday 14th Jan, fabric is on a pure party flex as a collection of the finest good vibe selectors take to the legendary Room One decks. Heading up the bill is a producer whose relentless growth has been recurrently documented by appearances on fabric line-ups: Benga will be wowing crowds with his pioneering strand of bass alongside fellow collaborator MC Youngman, an artist with radio A-list success with his release on Digital Soundboy at the end of 2010. Scratch Perverts make their 2011 fabric debut after a mammoth year of releases and sell out tour dates while Ms Dynamite is set to perform her wind-and-grind inducing live set. One half of Roller Express – a project tipped for big things in 2011- Redlight will join the fray with his specialist strand of vocal focused dance music. Up and coming bass music collective Tomb Crew and the man responsible for keeping London crowds clued up on authentic funky bashment flavours, Smutlee, are also on board to keep the vibe going.
They’ll be welcoming some of the most performance focused drum and bass DJs to our cavernous Room Two this week for a night of heart-thudding bass and ear-splitting rhythmic rolls. Andy C leads the pack with his much desired, energy-heavy style set; with a recently constructed home studio and the promise of some solo productions in 2011, the RAM Records spearhead is sure to be on a creative flex as we move into the new year. 1xtra’s Bailey also tops the bill and with his overarching appreciation of all drum and bass strands, he’ll undoubtedly have crowds bopping to the beat. Dom and Roland is set to switch things up as his ultra technological take on production takes his set to a different level, while Vapour and Macpherson hop on board to drive fabric fiends to dizzy new heights.
Room Three will be vibing to do a different beat as a collection of the godfathers of that moment-in-time, dark garage sound will grace our brick-clad cubby hole. Commended for bringing the original idea of dubstep to shady, underground, (and back then empty) dancefloors, Horsepower Productions and El-B are set to fill our club with hardhitting, dynamic basslines and that recognisable, high-soul groove. We’ll also be welcoming Oris Jay to our disco, a man whose dusk-infused electronica is sure to take us to even murkier waters. Seiji is set to round up our prolific bill, and with another self-titled EP set to drop in February, we can only expect more beeps, bongos and bass that memorably tore up dance floors in 2010.
