Big Gigantic is one of those rare acts where every track they touch is pure gold. This time around, the Boulder natives rework the megahit “Can’t Hold Us” into electro-soul mayhem. While the original is one of my least Macklemore & Ryan Lewis tunes, it is my favorite spin on any track from the rap/production duo.
The Coloradub group’s signature womping bass/saxophone infusion is the meat and potatoes of the track, while orchestral intros and outros provide the perfect garnish to a festival stomper. After months of low-quality live YouTube clips, the remix is finally available for free, hi-fi enjoyment. The boys are in the middle of a huge nationwide tour, with appearances left at the Mad Decent Block Party and Rowdytown (to name a few).
