2AM Club is one of the most diverse groups around. The five-piece brings together rap, electro, and alternative stylings into a perfectly crafted “hip-pop,” leading to much acclaim and a deal with RCA Records. When you take Timeflies and Colin McLoughlin, throw all their talent in a blender with some raw eggs and pixie dust, you get these guys.
This time around, their somber track “Tell Her Hi” reflects on past love and missed opportunities. Echoing keys float nostalgically behind emcee Tyler Cordy‘s honest lyrics. Marc Griffin kills the outro as guitar riffs fade, capping off this rainy-day treat (I am fully aware that it’s 90 degrees outside). After a brief hiatus following their Moon Tower release earlier this spring, the group sprung back nicely with three releases in short succession.
