With all of the tragedy and controversy surrounding the dance music community this week, we here at Earmilk would like to celebrate what we can and remind ourselves that for many, dance culture is, as it should be, still about the music. Please enjoy this week of The Club with that in mind, and enjoy the hell out of your weekend.
THE CLUB
The Aston Shuffle
Can’t Stop Now (Matisse & Sadko Remix)
Spinnin’
SP716
Moving quickly after reaching huge milestones with their collaboration “SLVR” with Steve Angello, Russian duo Matisse & Sadko return with a more melodic and uplifting progressive house club track. A remix of a new Aston Shuffle track that isn’t “Sunrise,” the guys’s take on “Can’t Stop Now” is piano-ridden and sparkling with eurphoria. Out on Spinnin’ Records this week, giving this a listen is certainly a great way to start your weekend. p>
Tom Swoon & Josef Belani
Rollercoaster
Ultra Records
UL4499
We’ve watched Polish producer Tom Swoon emerge from Soundcloud obscurity into the ranks of the next generation of club artists. Today, he’s teamed up with Spanish producer and DJ Josef Belani on “Rollercoaster,” a track that really showcases both artists’s love for melodic synths. But just like its name, “Rollercoaster” takes us on a little bit of a ride into minor-key led grinds and a trip on percussion-heavy beats. Out on Ultra Records this week, the track (and album art) are definitely worth your while.
