Here at Earmilk, we like to think you come for a diversity of new music; whether that be dance, rock, pop, hip hop, a singer, etc. Whatever makes you tick, and keeps your headphones filled with something you can enjoy—that’s what we’re all about. Music In The Middle (Oct 4th-6th) is a festival where you will be exposed to the best new bands of now, and the future. We’re announcing the initial lineup today, with many more artists to come. We’re not pulling back to the sixties for this, because we don’t want Paul McCartney; we want the acts that you, as our readers, yearn for when you visit our site.

So here are some of our favorites we are looking forward to.

Viceroy, or as he likes to refer to himself, the dance game Jimmy Buffet, is the king of tropical disco-house. Austen Afridi has made his way out of his San Francisco stomping grounds and has been making quite the name for himself in the world of feel good music. His sound stays true to his Summertime, All The Time motto, with his unique ways of taking a top 40 hit and instantly turning it into a summer classic that will transport you to a tropical paradise with just one click of the play button. From his popular Jet Life series, to working with artists such as Maroon 5, Passion Pit and Two Door Cinema Club, it looks  like 2013 will continue to be a momentous year for this talented producer. Viceroy is just one of the big names that you have to look forward to at this years event. Make sure you grab your shades and sunblock.

Some may know him as Don Logan, some may know him as his rap moniker Gunplay, but regardless, chances are if you’ve seen him, you know who he is. One of Maybach Music Group’s original members, the Carol City, Florida native has led a life that helps fuel his rap career with stories of hustling, gangster living and pure, flat out, uncut pain. Linking up with Rick Ross back in 1997, Play’s passion for music led him to form the group Triple C’s (Carol City Cartel) with his partners in rhyme Torch and Young Breed. In 2009, he shifted his act to the solo side on a self titled track on Ross’ debut album Deeper Than Rap. Since then, he has gone on to appear on countless records with some of the game’s biggest artists, building his name through meticulously placed features, including one of his most popular to date, Kendrick Lamar’s “Cartoon & Cereal”. Never one to shy away from the limelight, you can always expect a no nonsense attitude from the dredded rapper, with some comedy thrown into the mix as well. Be sure to bring your seabass, and be prepared for anything when he hits the stage.

Donnis, or Ladonnis Decurtis Crump if you want to call him by his government name, is an Atlanta, GA based rapper that has been climbing up the ladder in the industry ever since the release of his debut Mixtape Diary of an ATL Brave back in 2009. His military background has a unique effect on his material that sets him apart from other artists due to the fact that he has had the chance to experience different cultures and incorporates that into his music. With his high energy vibe and his fun and witty flow, the Fool’s Gold artist will always keep you moving and on your toes. Donnis is currently working on a new project fittingly titled Basic Training that will be releasing sometime in the near future.
