Les Claypool, the single greatest songwriting bass player alive today, has teamed up with Beats Antique, the percussive tribal fusion group, to create a tune of massively strange proportions. The darkness of Les’s lyrics and the effects applied to his voice make for a beautifully sinister track. The ethnic percussion provided by Beats fits perfectly with his style. We’re still trying to wrap our heads around this collaboration. It makes so much sense, but never in a million years could we have predicted it.

The track, “Beelzebub”, is one of twelve songs on Beats Antique’s upcoming album, A Thousand Faces – Act 1, available October 15th. They are also embarking on a US tour in October with over a month’s worth of dates. Trust us when we say you’re not gonna want to miss these guys.
