It’s been a short while since we’ve heard from StraightFace. The last time he featured on EARMILK was when we reviewed his StraightFace LP as part of our Straight From The Teet feature back in June. Since then, music appeared to have taken a back seat for him, until he dropped a couple of track teasers alongside an exclusive five-minute interview for us.
In the interview, the Georgia native talked about his decision to take down his music off the internet, what’s taking him so long to release his album Forever, and the sound he’s leaning towards with it. We also get a little preview of a new track, “Winter”, which shows what kind of vibes StraightFace has in store for us.
The second video teaser, which was released separately to the interview above, is for a track entitled “305”, features a smooth jazz sample over some bangin’ drums. Lyrically, the young emcee talks about growing up on welfare, and contrasts the first half of the month, which features him eating well, with the second half, which highlights the struggles his family goes through. The video cuts to a date, November 17th, which is the date that StraightFace hopes to release Forever.
