Just over a month ago, Sean Kongery exploded onto the Internet with his video for “Paper”. The visuals, which feature a brilliant storyline, inside sneak peeks of the skillfully layered original (all of which he recorded), and aptly-used Monopoly, culminate to form creative gem that is hardly seen in this age of glamour and excess. Continuing the success of their last project, Kongery recruits Lake Effect Films once again for his latest expression.
“Aware” is a sleek R&B ballad, both gentle and poignant, its essence captured masterfully by the visuals. Lake Effect and Justin Clough Films depict crooner Elias‘ romantic ventures along the West Coast, as Kongery simultaneously controls the backing track to his experiences. The second major release from the upstart LA native proves his wide production range doesn’t diminish the quality of either track or any style of sound he may encounter. Kongery is picking up momentum after consecutive successful releases and videos, so be on the look out for big-name collaborations and label-released originals in the near future.
