On April 16, Oakland indie outfit Sister Crayon released their Cynic EP on Fake Four Inc. Vocalist Terra Lopez cites Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Jeff Buckley as influences in her forays into singing, and together with Dani Fernandez forms Sister Crayon, whose 2011 album Bellow was well-received by critics and spread quickly across the west coast. Pair the heartfelt, haunting vocal and instrumental from the EP’s title track “Cynic” with deep, delicate production from Friends of Friends collaborator and Exponential Records head Ernest Gonzales and you have an emotional remix to be reckoned with (premiere/download via LFTF).
