Coming out of San Francisco, Vin Sol is one of the last still standing and truly fighting the good war for vinyl. He’s even managed to garner support from big names like A-Trak, who recently featured him on his travel blog, Infinite Legroom. In his newest release, “Atlantic Ave”, he ventures into what he describes as a “deep vibe”, and no other description would do it justice. It’s the deepest of houses, and let’s all be really honest here for a second. In the world of Krewella and Avicii, the genre is like the forgotten middle child (commonly also referred to as the “Stannis Baratheon” of the dance world, except with less desperation and more collected cool).
Hey world, take note – San Francisco is doing something really right when it comes to underground dance music, and we should all be praising Vin Sol on his immense talent a little bit more than we have been. “Atlantic Ave” has been on repeat all night, and it’s a friendly reminder that this genre is here to stay. For now, let’s just enjoy “Atlantic Ave,” and check out some of his other tracks on Soo Wavey Records, his label.
