Ayah Marar has been stirring up some admirable buzz over the past few months by releasing hit after hit from her debut album The Real. While some are calling her the ‘Queen of Bass’ and others the ‘dubstep queen,’ it is no question that her music has made it into our speaker systems. Earmilk even featured the songstress last month in our influencer series.
Today we have the official video for her fourth and final single from her debut album, released on her imprint Hussle Girl. The track “Lethal Dose” takes a slightly darker turn than past releases. The track dives into the darkness of desire and obsession and while addressing the effects of emotional and physical addiction. With that said, the video exhibits a vulnerable and exposed version of the Jordanian beauty we’ve never seen before. The entire video was shot in the warehouse where she actually resides now. Ayah remarks, “the making of the video really brought us together as a creative family and community, and touched on the phenomenon that is warehouse life.”
Ayah is a tour de force, she runs her own label, tours the world, just signed with Radikal Records, and still finds time to host her own monthly radio show on BBC Radio 1xtra. Expect big things from Ayah as she has found an organic balance between the world of the underground and mainstream, while effortlessly staying afloat in a male dominated industry.
