Chill…
Today brings “Depression Dreams”, a track that comes in hard and emerges with ethereal force. Gross Gross Girls was introduced to the world wide web out of the blue with his release of the Years EP back in early April. Marty Shaffer (the Milwaukee-based producer) continues to deliver, especially on this highly anticipated single that flows in the same vein as both “White Lotus Tile” and “Asthenic”. “Depression Dreams” is smooth with real sex appeal, drawing on crafted vocal sampling, and Shaffer’s signature warm hum that laces the background. The trap-like percussion eases in just after the halfway point, pleasing your eardrums and relaxing every muscle in your body. If you’re looking to kick back and escape your thoughts (even for just a few minutes), Gross Gross Girls gets the job done. For today at least.
