4Knots is soon approaching– soon as in this coming Saturday, June 29th. This annual music festival curated by Village Voice will be hosted at South Street Seaport’s Pier 16 & 17 with live music performances from Kurt Vile and The Violators, The Men, White Lung, Heliotropes, Fat Tony, Hunters, The Babies and many more. For a complete line-up, visit their website. This is a day festival from 1pm-8pm and completely free to the public. Maybe I should say this again, 4Knots is FREE. According to the New York Daily News, this is one of the top music festivals of the nation. With the view from the sea of this magnificent city and bands like Kurt Vile and The Violators soundtracking your afternoon and possibly the sunset, there is really no excuse to not make it.
Since 4Knots ends pretty early, Village Voice is throwing an after-party featuring music from Lil B, Clams Casino and Keyboard Kid at The Music of Hall of Williamsburg. That said, your ideal saturday should involve attending 4Knots at the Seaport, jumping onto the Williamsburg ferry and dancing all those sweaty Based vibes out in an air conditioned room that’s only $20. To clarify, the day time part of the festival is completely free but the afterparty with Based God is $20 per person. This isn’t bad for a day’s festivities– not bad at all. Below is a little bit of what to expect from 4Knots via the playlist that I made. For more information, visit their homepage.
