Washed Out (a.k.a Mr. Ernest Greene) was one of the standout acts of the “chillwave” movement a few years back, but seemed to have faded away for a little while. Now he’s prepping to release his new album, Paracosm, and has blessed the world with some of the upcoming material. Today he released the lyric video for the track “Don’t Give Up”.
It almost seems as though Washed Out can do no wrong, as you find that you almost immediately enjoy the heavily-layered world that Mr. Greene presents to you. The track starts off with the ghostly sounds of a summertime party, conjuring up a deep feeling of nostalgia that we somehow all share. That is followed up with Washed Out’s patented wispy vocals and disco-influenced rhythm.
