In light of the recent official announcement of the break-up of indie rock/hip-hop collective Kids These Days, former KTD frontman Vic Mensa shows no signs of letting up with his burgeoning solo career. Following the release of the visuals for “Orange Soda” earlier this month, the Save Money rapper has released “Hollywood LA”, a track off his upcoming project, INNANETAPE.
For the breezy summertime ode to the West Coast rap mecca, Mensa enlists the vocal stylings of fellow Chicagoan Lili K. to compliment production from Cam and Tae Beast (1/4 of TDE‘s in-house production collective Digi+Phonics). With dreamily smooth production that instantly brings to mind 80+ degree weather and swaying palm trees, the track finds a harmonious balance with the combination of Mensa’s energetic rhymes, Lili K.’s soothing background vocals over hazy production.
