It’s been three years since Duncan Grewer and Sean Koch teamed up to form ColeCo, and the hits have kept on coming. The duo, which is known for producing impressive Tropical Nu-Disco and House tunes and remixes, hails from Toronto, though you would think they’d be from somewhere a little closer to the equator. ColeCo has employed their rework magic yet again and released their remix of Slow Knights’ R&B-esque track “I Got It That Bad,” off their newly minted label, Thrillhouse Records.
A stark departure from the jazzy slow rock essence of the original, the ColeCo remix turns up the heat and the tempo with a futuristic disco sound that will put you in a dancing mood. While less of a tropical-themed tune than their latest Nu-Disco hit, “You’re So Fine,” the group’s “I Got It Bad” remix works on a darker, but equally sexy level. Adding in a funky guitar riff, echoed vocals, and lustful piano synths, ColeCo transforms Slow Knights’ original into a sensuous and inviting dancehall tune.
The remix will be up for free download next Tuesday, August 6th through the Thrillhouse Records soundcloud. Watch out for the debut of their upcoming EP, Thrillhouse Forever, scheduled to hit later this summer.
