Rapsody, the North Carolina native just released a mixtape hosted by DJ Drama entitled She Got Game. The 16-track free release features Mac Miller, Jay Electronica, Wale, and Common. One of the standouts off the mixtape “Lonely Thoughts,” showcases the female emcee’s ability to rip the mic with a long, syllabic verse. To close the song out she recruits buzzing Chicago artist Chance The Rapper to solidify the song as a lyrical parade.
As Rapsody tries to bring the art of rhyming back to hip-hop, she’s not at all bashful in letting people know who’s on top. Maybe it’s lines like “Call me young Achilles cuz I snap on these like Kobe Now,” or “lot of great players, but we as better as a team, you learned that watching Miami and the spurs just this spring.” 9th Wonder’s Jamla Records artist certainly wants people to know who she is.
Chance enters the song with a similar vibe, speaking on the passion behind his music. “They say Acid was an album retail it, I said I got way too much soul for me to sell it.” Her mixtape is available for free download on DatPiff. Rapsody is on the rise.
