So it appears that good things really do come in twos. Coming only a few days after he announced that OLD, the follow up to his critically acclaimed album XXX, will be released on September 30th, Danny Brown dropped the brand new video for the next track from OLD, called “ODB”. These past few months we’ve heard tracks like “Kush Koma”, “Dip” and “Handstand”, all tracks thought to be off of his new project, and now we have another brand new banger with “ODB”. The Detroit native enlisted Paul White on the boards to create the trippy instrumental, whilst he goes in with his typical Danny Brown aggressive flow and lyrics about sex and drugs that has been his forte. The visuals for “ODB” have stuck true to the spaced out feel of the track, with a mix of colour, face changing shots and flashing graphics that take you into Danny Brown’s world.
OLD is one of the year’s most hotly anticipated releases, and although the original release date of August had been pushed back, it looks like we’re set to get the album earlier than accepted. There have been a few artists that have been confirmed for OLD, including A$AP Rocky and Schoolboy Q, as well as some of the best producers around such as Rustie and A-Trak. September is looking to be a huge month for new releases, and Danny Brown’s OLD will be one of most highly sought after albums. OLD drops September 30th.
