With yesterday marking the 12th anniversary of 9/11, many people across the globe have been paying their respects to all of those who perished in the incident. New York’s Smoke DZA has laid down a new track to mark this occasion, entitled “City Of Dreams”. The Harlem native dedicates the track to all the people hustling to make their dreams come true, referring to New York as the “big city of dreams”. The self proclaimed ‘Kush God’ also address’s the new trend of fashion rap, saying that his music “aint for the niggas wearing leather pants”. On the boards for this track are production duo Buda Da Future and Grandz Muzik, who have cooked up a dope, straight hip hop beat that has a nicely placed piano sample amongst dark, eerie synths and bass. This track is a welcome return from DZA, who’s sure to be gearing up a follow up to his 2012 album Rugby Thompson.
