Any true fan of the Grand Theft Auto series knows that all of the games in the series rock some legitimate soundtracks. Living up to the previous trend Rockstar have upped their game in releasing GTA V with new songs from Tyler, The Creator, Wavves and apparently Twin Shadow. Given the big names who knows who else will be on the bill?–We will all just have to wait and see once the game is released on Tuesday.
While Twin Shadow’s recent trend has come in the form of covers his original addition to the GTA soundtrack, “Old Love/New Love”, has dark disco undertones that should soundtrack the mass rampages and maliciousness of the game accurately, where happy-go-lucky vibes shine through. So allow the trance-based chorus and corky vocals chants overtake the airwaves to provide the weekend with some soul, spice and, surprisingly, everything nice.
In case there is interest in the previous covers that George Lewis Jr. (Twin Shadow) has been punching out we recommend taking a listen to his dark take on Bruce Springsteen‘s “I’m On Fire”. Chiming it at just under two minutes the cover sets an almost seductive tone with it’s raw and emotional vocal contextual stance.
