The good people over at Sunset in the Rearview just released their first “Sunset Selections of 2013” compilation, featuring awesome exclusive tracks by a few of their favorite artists. Spearheaded by Arjun Grover, one of SITR’s writers, “Sunset Selections” features tracks by One Room, ANTHM, Bartoven and more.
New York rapper Doley Bernays teamed up with frequent collaborator MP Williams for “Deeper Meaning,” a record from the compilation that finds MP flipping Ellie Goulding’s “Halcyon,” the perfect record for Doley to air his frustrations about growing up in the Bronx, wanting his circumstances to be better. “It’s gonna be better…” Check the song out below.
The song nods to Doley’s Adventure Club-sampling “Funerals & Release Dates,” where he offers some sobering insight into the reality of his hometown.
Doley’s EP Just In Case premiered over at Complex last week and is available for download via his Soundcloud.
