If we’re talking about slept on gems of the modern day rap game, New York City’s Vulkan the Krusader is one artist worth mentioning. “Wild Horses”, a track that was left on the cutting room floor during his 2011 project, V for Vendetta, has finally been released and has the emcee dropping a number of references that include Dave Chappelle’s now famous Prince-playing-basketball skit to wrestling promoter and booker Eric Bischoff. A head nodding joint produced by London’s very own DA, the track immediately captivates the listener through its powerful soul sample and Vulkan’s rough around the edges flow, creating a slick juxtaposition in the process.

An anime fan through and through who took a break from his rap projects to work on the 80’s inspired, l0-fi tale that was Robbie Darko, the rapper and singer has never been one to distinctively pigeon hole his work and discredit his projects. Be sure to check out the track and his very dope album, which was inspired by the popular graphic novel turned movie, down below. November 5th may be long gone, but that doesn’t mean we can’t remember the Gunpowder treason and plot.
