Find them at basement nights and warehouse one-offs reaching from New York to Montreal and overseas Berlin, a collect of conneisseuring clubbers. Void of tasteless vagabonds and cheap standards, looking to give credit where credit is due. The recent flood of clichéd counterfeits has made most music today better left unsaid, but it’s the rumours stuck in our head that tug at our ego and give us the need to shine light. A compulsive urge to spread from one ear to the next, to draw a line between bottle service cogs and what is honestly the cutting edge of electronic dance music. There’s no room for Vegas roller coasters or casual chit chat, just Night Rumours worth spreading.

A quickly rising up-and-comer, Innershades already received the seal of approval from a couple of dance music’s most prominent producers. One highlight would be fellow Belgian producer, Locked Groove, who reworked his debut single “That Girl” into a booty shaking thriller. Now on his second release, Innershades turns to Crème Organization for the issue of No Stopping. Of course, if you’ve kept up with music much you’d catch the reference and get a chuckle out of the first track, “Nina At The Boiler Room”. Referencing Syrian dj/ producer Nina Kraviz, who’s rocked Boiler Room a number of times already, the track itself has a mischievous acid shaded pulse with flipped samples, loud alarms, and catchy beats to get things going the right way. Track title “No Stoppin” is a slower dub-oriented sensation that captures a sentimental temper. Things spike with “The Future”. With a more definitive ‘throwback’ house feel to it, the way he plays around with the synths will surely stimulate many dance floors. There’s no going wrong with this EP, really.

Keeping on the low after the release of their debut album You Are Eternity, which came out on Stroboscopic Artefacts earlier this year, Dadub have gathered quite a reaction from techno lovers worldwide. And that’s for a good reason. The music speaks to you, and its an inviting auditory journey with a narrative that develops from techno’s more experimental territory. Their Untitled EP showcases curations that are both reflective and dynamic with plenty of atmospheric soundscapes set to strike a pineal chord at any given moment. “Kykeon”, the track featuring Retina.it, nurtures an absorbing effect that hovers around steady rhythms. Although there is plenty happening here, the patterning allows every element to coexist gracefully. “Mistresses March” delves deeper into narrative and unfolds an account of awareness on the listener that cannot be overlooked. With so much potential, it’s hard not to consider Dadub when thinking about the sound of tomorrow’s techno.

If there’s one thing Sawlin & Subjected have synchronized, it is their vision on what the music they make should represent. Both currently living in Berlin and releasing music under their DIY imprint, Vault Series, it’s clear that the only thing they want to keep a high profile on is the music they produce. No gimmicks, no facades, no aliases. That can probably help explain why there are hardly any press photos of both artists floating around the internet. Foreign Awake Pt. 1 marks the first release of a two-series EP for Electric Deluxe, and for Subjected it even charts his first release outside of Vault Series. Notably more textural and breadth-like than their usual stuff, the “Textures” track concept comes in three functional servings that embody plenty of space and mood for varying occasions. Lengthy and distinctive, each track avenues to and from their singular concentrations that will leave you head-sprung.

Jonas Kopp seems to have a little something for everyone in his productions. Whether you prefer the classic sounds of Chicago house or the equally riveting pulse of warehouse techno, chances are this Argentinian producer has worked up something that’ll serve your needs. With so much versatility under his name, it’s clear why his name gets championed next to heavyweights like Ben Klock or Levon Vincent. His Throbbing EP, out now on ARTS, compiles four crafty techno tools that carry A-grade stomps we expect from Kopp. “White Loft” and “No Stress” hold well-honed and progressively evolving active chords that strike a familiar rich vein. “You Are Mine”, appropriately positioned in the A1 position, has a serene undertone that builds up, seemingly, incognito. Thinking that the pleasant trip will last all the way through, intensity drastically picks up as soon as the song strikes its midsection. The daunting voice samples that follow lead to the title track, “Throbbing”, which—indeed—feels like a trembling burst of energy growing louder and louder.

Currently on their second collective installment, techno giants Len Faki and Johannes Heil give us this year’s following lesson on dancefloor stirrers. V2 carries a darker undertone than V1, which was an easy-going summer vibe collection of tracks that made us all feel good. Staying true to the big sounds we expect from both producers, “Dirty” packs a late 90’s rave-heavy flavor that’ll drive any set into a peak time position. With its powerful bass kicks and loud organ hook, this’ll be one of those tracks you can hear half a block away. “Maniac” maintains intensity, only this time the buzz becomes inundated with filtered synthesis work that’ll thrill your dancing glands. Feeling both funky and kaleidoscopic at once, every element holds an equally important position that veers every shifting moment closer to the edge. Expecting less form the veterans themselves, this is a classic double-header you need to hear.
